Sitting here, aircon on a cool 22c and sipping a pre-dinner drinkie, it is hard to imagine the hardships that these old style
explorers had to endure.
We, GDEC plus others, venture into this type of country blessed with the information that these people had the foresight to leave behind.
Today, of course, everything is
well researched -thanks indeed to the type of people in your blog- and with much preparation and the benefits of modern technology.....as in vehicles, refrigeration and most of the comforts of home.
hard to put it all into perspective, but like you I too have a 'thirst' for this type of travel. We are indeed lucky and I add my thanks to the
explorers of old that have made all our travels worth while..
