Hi Joe

Thanks for those interesting images and story. My son is up there at the moment and this working his but off out in the full sun. He is a Licensed Surveyor and working on a new Railway line. Their camp is 3 hours inland from Port Headland. He is seeing some great country before the dozers and heavy plant come through the area.

Thanks again.

Cheers

Stephen

G'day Stephen
Thank you for your words regarding the Pilbara, I must say that I have no ill-feelings towards anyone who works in or for the mining industry, its a job and we all have a need for work, just to stay alive.

It can be a double edged sword especially for me, I often get called on to do passenger transfers from the Newman airport to various outlying mining operations, listening to the city based fly in ~ fly out mining Guru's talking absolute bull bleep about the area and place they simply call the job ~ these people are dumbed down when it comes to the history of the place they are actively shipping off to the world markets.

I know the place and rail project your Son is working on, the Chichester Range and surrounding country side is absolutely magnificent ~ I would be very interested to hear what your Son thinks of it all, but like my two Sons who also work in the mining industry, their modern ways leave them little time for pondering the past or the future that lays over the mythical horizon.

Safe travels:
