Top marks for photographing the log before it was 'souvenired' Joe - at least that is available for posterity.
Will be poking around the area (what is still accessible) in May, after an absence of 40 odd years.
Never strayed far from the road in the old 'HR' Holden, but now have the time to see what I was missing way back then.

Thanks for the comment and the interest, I'm quite miffed at the log book being souvenired, but at least the original log book is in Dr Hickman's keeping.
This book withstood the ravages time and contained some 40 + visitor entries.
I will, when time permits send Dr Hickman copies of the log book images so he has records up to the point of the last entry in the stolen book.
Sadly the theft of the log book will leave a big gap in the actual visitor number records required to give weight to preserving the integrity of
the crater, maybe the light fingered mongrels greedy action will be the undoing of this special feature.
