Comment: Burra Heritage Trail

I recall on a tour of the Barrossa, where I was told the Burra mines were responsible for keeping the wineries of the Barossa going in the 2nd half of the 1800's.
Fortified wine was the main form of alcohol comsumed by the miners as it tasted better "hot" than beer with no cooling available. Many of the great buildings in The Barossa wouldn't exist or be so grand if not for Burra was what we were told.

Hi Mark

Another piece of history that I was not aware of. Thank for adding it to the comments.

Cheers
