Good afternoon MickO
I would like to know if you used 'coil spring' welding rods . Or did you oil dip and quench the spring ?

We used what we had Muzbry. In this case we had a few nickle rods. The coil was quenched with boiling water. What it didn't show was that we also wrapped steel strapping around and welded that as well. We got another couple of days out of it before it went again but by that time we'd made it back to the Gary so the ute was able to head out to headland to effect repairs. It's a good reason to carry a spare coil and shocks as we reckon that the shockers failing contributed to the coil damage. Cheers Mick
