Camooweal QLD - A tip I can offer with
free camping is alongside
the lagoon. Big rigs, tents, campers...it doesn't matter. Plenty of room for all. Directions - head West through
Camooweal, a short distance later cross the concrete bridge and take a left turn (South). Then follow the road for a km or so and you will spot
the lagoon, shade trees and other campers. Wonderful to watch the eagles nesting and other birdlife living at
the lagoon. Probably THE
free camp spot on our 2011 around Oz adventure. By the way, this is the ideal time to travel.
