I have finally talked the wife into going to lake eyre for a holiday, and seeing as how you blokes are out their now would there be any chance of giving us an up date on the road conditions. We are in a pathfinder ti550, towing a 21ft roadstar caravan, is it posible to go from
Marree to
william creek towing the van. Or should we leave the van at coober peedy and tent it for a few days. any suggestions greatly appreciated. we are coming from W.A, and have limited time as we have to be back for the grandaughters birthday[apple of granny's eye]

Hi Broodie,
You can tell the the wife that you will be fine to drive from
Marree to
William Creek along the
Oodnadatta Tk. Note that we went into Lake Eyre from
Marree and camped at Muloorina. The track to Muloorina was in good condition and I would drive a good off road type caravan on it. The track from Muloorina
campsite to the lake is not suitable for trailers but is only a 45 minute trip each way. There are a couple of sandy sections along here which any four wheel drive would handle.
Hope this info. helps.
Cheers,
Tim.
