OK, manual says that with a new filter the oil needed is 8.2Lts , when you dip it after filling with that much it hardly even shows on the dipstick...anyone got the answer...

Get a longer dipstick.. Sorry only joking. Does the oil take a long time to run down to the bottom / sump ?

Didn't the GU 3lt have a recall to have it's sump capacity increased, by fitting a shorter dipstick. Maybe the owners manual hadn't been corrected.

Sump level was increased from 6.5 to 8.5 in the 3L.

this recall affected only Prior to Nov 2000
I'd leave it overnight and see the next day. It can take a while for the oil to settle.

My GU takes 10 lts with a filter change. Watch also rear diff figures,a real bummer when you have just drained 5.4 lts out and it only says you need 2 lts . It was a nice walk to the
shop ,I guess thats what you get for being a tight arse and buying the Gregorys one instead of the factory one.
