I read you blog and it sounds like you had a trip of a lifetime. Such a pity when you have injuries that pop up later in life to give you grief. As we get older we all seem to collect them. It does sound like you had most of your trip before being laid low and a pity of you friends mother - one mis-step as an older person can be quite disastrous.
It is such a beautiful country in the top end and a pity it is so far away but a blessing that being that far away it will probably stay beautiful for a long time yet. I moved up to
Darwin with my family for 6 years to 'soak' up the top end experience. Best place to raise kids.
We have owned a travelander for 4 years now and yes they are the best. Ours is a tray mount version so we don't need to tow and this allows us freedom to really go off road. We progressed through all the modes of
camping tents, camptrailers, and finally ended with the travelander. Don't think we will go to a caravan - some more comforts but huge trade offs.
Cheers

Yes it was a great trip but because we had to be in
Broome in 2 weeks it meant we couldn't leave the main hwys and day trip, we were going to do that on the way home. That was our only regret.
Were you in
Broome last June? It may have been you who showed us your travelander in the car
park. Your vehicle looks familiar. lol
