oil pump 1hz

any one had any experience with the oil pump in the 1hz? are they part of the front timeing cover or are they a seperate unit ?any info would be helpfull ,thanks haysie..

Ive never done one Haysie but it doesnt look too hard.You go in through the timing cover.Remove the timing gears.Remove the front engine housing.Remove the outer rotor from the oil pump housing.Remove the plug , spring and relief valve. Wash components.
There is some good pics in Gregories # 513 landcruiser manual pg 57.

yes the oil pump is part of the front timing cover why do you want to know
