Comment: WA Long weekend - Waves, whingeing, wine and wonky bullbars

Thanks Barry,

Yes, I think I inherited that from my father. We would go on holiday and he would always insist on travelling to our destination in the dead of night. His theory was that the dark wasn't as dangerous as "other silly buggers" on the road! Also, I like to reach a destination with the absolute maximum amount of time to enjoy it and that usually involves driving in the dark.

Hadn't thought of the CALM thing...ummmm let's just hope no officials are reading this! In my defense, I paid 3 nights camping fees for 2 of us in full even though we never saw a ranger the whole time we were there AND I have a current national parks pass. Afer giving it some though it would probably have been quicker to take a chainsaw to the tree and remove the branches than go to the effort of putting signs up at each end of the track. I was also very cautious and would not have done anything that put ourselves or other travellers at risk. I proceeded past the sign with extreme caution as I was not sure what was up ahead and indeed what was making the road "impassable". It seemed like the right thing to do at the time and as it turns out it worked out just fine!

You are right thats Callcup hill and we had a fantastic time. Still so much of that area to explore and look forward to going back again soon!!

Cheers
