Yes, a great story of the part small hospitals play in the health care system, and how any chest pain needs to be taken seriously. I work as a Clinical Nurse in an Emergency Dept, in a hospital where we have lost most of our
services other than emergency. So, all of our critical patients need to be shipped out 'elsewhere' for further care, but, the emergency care we can provide is lifesaving. We are always amazed how many of our critical patients, mainly cardiac, do not arrive in an
ambulance, but walk in the front door, as they did not think their condition (chest pain or otherwise) , warranted 'bothering' the ambos.
