Thanks for your report, well done.
We did the Gibb last year, June/ July, went from Broome to Kununurra. We drove to Mitchell Falls and spent two nights there. Found the road not that bad if you drove to the conditions, but well worth the drive. We also drove to Kulumburu and camped beside the beach at McGowans Island.
We also heard bad stories about El Questro but still went there and spent 4 nights and absolutely loved the place. Had a private bush camp spot beside the Pentecost River.
We will be back, just could not get enough of the Kimberley. Also agree with you, hope they never seal the Gibb.
