Great blog Stephen, it has certainly whetted my desire to see that area.
Can you provide details of how to go about getting the required permits? Also where are the closest fuel supplies and approximately the fuel range required to travel into
Maralinga, tour and return to fuel supply and any other info?
Thanks
Rod

Hi Rod
Once the permit system has been sorted out which will be very soon, I would like to put money on it that it will be a very popular destination for all type of travelers that would love to see what has been out of bounds for decades.
There will be 3 new Trek notes up on the system soon with full details, but in the meantime I will send you a MM.
The most popular way in would be in from
Ceduna, Colona, then north for
Maralinga. The last fuel up is
Nundroo and it is around 250 kilometers from there to
Maralinga. If you are Diesel, you can buy it at
Maralinga, but if you are Petrol, you can arrange with Robin prior to arrival and he can get it for you.
It you intend to travel other areas, then that would be up to you to work out how far you are going and where you are traveling.
We all filled up with diesel before leaving
Maralinga and by the time I refueled back at
Nundroo, it was over 1200 kilometres, so you can see you need to do your homework.
Thanks for your reply.
Cheers
Stephen
