Comment: Bloody Ants

If you can figure out whether the ants prefer sweet (usually black ants) or savoury (usually brown ants) you can make your own bait which works the same as the liquid ant rid. Mix either honey or peanut butter (depending on the type you have) with a little borax in a small (drink bottle cap) sized container. You might need to experiment on the mix...too much the ants will die around the container. You want them to nibble the bait and take it back to the nest to share with the Queen. I was given this tip by a pest control guy years ago and I use it at home and when camping. Remember though, that ants are an important in the ecosystem. I mainly use these to keep them from nesting in the van or truck. Happy hunting!
