Comment: Back to Basics - caravanners experience 6 nights in a tent.

i do feel for you with the rain and wind, we have now totally given up on tents, roof top campers and camper trailers, we have brought an old 22 ft 2 axel van and "modifying" it to suit our needs, spent $9000 on the van and will spend around another probally $5-700 on changing it to suit us, it is an experiment to see how we handle a van with kids as we have not had on for travelling yet so a first for us to learn, if we like it wich we will, we will start looking for a more modern van .....
For us ... camping in tents is only suited for VERY short overnighters, the rooftop camper is NOT suited for kids and tooooo bloody high to climb up in and camper trailers ..... only a "tent" bolted to a trailer, absolutly no diif to a tent and a good camp kitchen ........... we go away to relax, no way i am going to put up with no comfort, if i wanted to spend a cruddy night camping i would join the army hahhaha
Yes it makes you appreciate the "comforts" that are available if you want them eh..
Cheers Joe
