Low tyre pressure to negotiate the dunes is a must. The trade off is sticks going through the side walls. Not such an issue with the tread. Most punctures were fixed on the car with the push in plugs. 2 new tyres had 2inch cuts in the side wall. one was fixed with a huge patch and a tube to get out of trouble the other scrapped. Bent a rim on something hard in the sand and let the tyre down, fixed with detergent and a mash hammer. The Madigan is a must for the bucket lists.
