Just a question, and its probably silly, but incase we are ever in the same, unfortunate position, but couldn't you have just run your genie to give you power for the fridge till you could rectify the battery situation?

G'day Phil,
Never a silly question you know. The short answer is no! The problem was that we could not determine the problem with the batteries and even though they were plugged into power via a charger and the regulator screen was telling me there was enough power the fridge had other ideas. The fridge is powered direct from the batteries and it all seemed easy but it is a black art this 12V stuff! When I pulled out all the batteries and replaced them with one single new one the fridge started working again like magic. When I read the battery charge they went something like 10V, 12.5 and 12.8 so I thought two would be good so I persisted with this idea for some time to a point that I thought I had wrecked the fridge as
well. My only 240 option is via the charger as I don't have a 240 to the fridge option.
Power otherwise could have come from the gennie which we have done on a couple of occassions but it needs good batteries to feed the fridge so it seems.
Sadly I will now carry the new battery as spare from here on to make sure that we are not exposed again.
Kind regards
Theo
