Comment: Just Truckin'

Hello. We are Wayne and Julie and unfortunately we live in Melbourne. Approaching retirement age, we are now thinking of buying a Motorhome, similiar to you guys. Not sure of the size of your MH but we are looking for a unit around 6-7m in length.

We have travelled many k's of the last 12 years or so with a 4wd group towing camper trailers and basically have decided that we need a few more comforts in our life, hence the decision to purchase the MH. But, and it's a very big but, we have children spread throughtout country Victoria and NSW, so what we are thinking of doing is buying the MH to not only travel in but to LIVE in between trips and family visits.

In your opinion, based on your travels to date in your Motorhome, think that you could possibly live in one on a permanent basis.

I have searched the forum of exploroz on this subject and as you would expect there are many opinions just as there as there are between buying a caravan v. motorhome.

The logical thing to do, I'm sure, is to hire a van for a week or two and just try to decide for our selves but whenever I see that someone is travelling in a motorhome I try to ask the question.

Any thoughts, could you do it on a permanent basis and be happy in the process?

Hoping you enjoy your travels,
Wayne and Julie Kerr.
