Comment: 4WD Vehicle & Accessories

Hi Robert,

At this stage we are not planning to tow anything because we figure that we can go more places and we both feel more comfortable driving without a towed vehicle behind us. Also any other vehicle becomes another liability which we are responsible for.

We have looked at trailers, camper trailers, caravans and motor homes but at this stage are going with 2 tents - an Oztent RV1 & RV4 plus all the basic camping gear. We are thinking that if we wanted some creature comforts along the way then we could stay in Motels, Hotels, and overnight cabins. Also we want to travel overseas and storing one vehicle for a few weeks is less hassle than 2.

We are however open to changing our mind about this plan and we figure after a bit of personal experience on the road plus talking to other traveler then we could purchase something else if we wanted - and be more knowledgeable to make the right choice. Also if we do change our minds about camping and get something else, for example a caravan, then the cost of the tents is not that great that we would not lose too much cash in doing this.

Also if we don't like the traveling lifestyle after a few months then we can always settle somewhere on the coast and again have not invested too much cash into a towed vehicle.

Even though we done quite a bit of holiday camping in the past we think it is best for us to tread softly at the moment and kept our options open.
