Glenn, I would definitely go there first thing Friday morning - we arrived on a Friday at about 10.30am and all the fireplace sites were gone and many of the others. I cannot find any reference in our literature to 'no bikes' but there was a
sign on the entry post - you know the circle with the slash through it (and we did see a kid riding around with one of those signs off a post in his hand). Having said that, there were plenty doing it. There is only one road - a narrow dirt one, and it was used frequently by cars during every day, so I guess it is your call. It is certainly a beautiful spot - but if you find it busy you might like to go the caravan
park at Walkerville - it was fantastic. Lots of
bush camping spots in the
park, a great beach,
rock pools and a little kiosk open 11-4 on Sat & Sunday, and a big long area for the kids to ride their bikes. I think it is about $22 for non-powered site. Enjoy your weekend!
