The 'Drop Dust'
sign is common near the end of dirt roads. The dust hang up while moving but drops when the vehicle stops. To prevent the dust from 'polluting' town streets/bitumen roads trucks are required to stop and drop the dust, usually with a helping hand of the trucky giving mud (dust?) flaps a whack.
