What a great story my friend,
Given your ability to describe a memorable trip such as that gives life to your travels. Sad that I missed it.
Outback Al, myself and Gaby meandered through the gorges surrounding DQB on my last trip. I saw birds but you saw fire tailed finches, a hovering goshawk, honeyeaters squabbling and martins swooping and diving as they annoyed a drifting Hawk.
It is indeed an art to be able to describe such journeys into our outback, few people possess this art, there are a few on Exploroz.....you are one.
