Comment: Karlamilyi (Rudall River) - An "OH SHIT" moment near the Desert Queen B

Hullo Mick
Yet another excellent blog - always look forward to your descriptions, including the seemingly inevitable repairs :-)
I have tried Google but alas and alack - no joy :-( Do you know the origin of the name "Rooneys Creek"?
Cheers

Andrew, all the best for 2013. No. Rudall himself passed this way (roughly) but I'm unsure if it was due to him. He named quite a few features out this way including Lake Dora (his sister I believe). There are a few names there within the valley leading to DQB.Compton Pinnacle, Miles Ridge, Miles Hill, Ive's Pool, Rooney Creek, Clayton Rockhole, Talbot Soak. It could also be something to do with the crazy prospector from the 1970's who named the Desert Queen Baths. I may have to get Phil B or Alan Equinox to consult Geonoma for me.

There are always repairs mate and that's why I never leave home without Jaydub ;-)

Cheers Mick
