Yep, its everywhere. Just finished a trip to Tasi. A drive from
Cradle Mountain to
Stanley takes you through clear felled forest, kilometres of pine and
blue gum plantation. Clear felling is hidden from view by leaving 50 metres of bush intact along the edge of the road. Most forest roads are locked off but when you get beyond the strip its
miles of cleared forest. Plantation timber is everywhere, but the forest industry still want open access to old growth forest. We found a
free camping spot near
Southport south of
Hobart. Signs proclaimed it managed by Forests Tasmania. The entire forest was stunted regrowth and tangled logging refuse. A trashed sight treated like trash by 4wders and trailbikers testing their rigs. Mud and twisted sump guards, the ubiquitous burnt
camp chair and not a blade of grass to be seen. Even the river was full of slime.

It's a crying shame Pete. I am at least thankful for digital technology because even though my grandhildren will grow up with some of it the next generation and so on will only have the photos and dvd's of how it use to be. I just dont know what to do about it to make it stop where others have already tried. Thanks for your post. Happy travelling
