agree with thoughts, its supposed to be the price we pay for standard of living and progress, supports jobs, supplies world with whatever mineral or rescource is bieng mined. was equally surprised on trip thru tassie to see effects of mining there as well. Go to kalgoorlie, huge pits 5km long , miles of tailings piles, cyanide ponds and so on. in new guinea i had heard there is supposed to be a gold mine that has poisoned the river downstream when pond broke..and then BP rig disaster in the oceon . in a lot of respects all mankind is responsible for what we do to our world and we are messing our own nests as consumers.
