Comment: Surveyor's General Corner. Part 2 Sand and Granite

A great read Michael.Googs Track is one of our favourite trips - we've travelled it on our own (great solitude) and also with our 4WD club mates. On our last trip, we too were held up by a group in front of us that struggled over the big hills for all the usual reasons. We helped them out of course but consequently, we were unable to make Mt Finke that night. The best part is that we found a great bush camp about 20 k south that we've marked for future trips. I heard that the Kingoonya pub has recently re-opened, so that is another reason to return and meet the locals again.
