Mate, you've done
well....AutoSparky is used a lot because he has stuff in stock, have bought a lot of stuff from him. The comms place, you struck gold, not many of us locals have with them I can tell you :-)
Alice is a great place to visit and it sure takes a sense of adventure to live here. RFDS has a great museum, again you need to keep it in context, its a small town and the RFDS provide an invaluable service, so much so ,my wife started work with them last week !!
Anzac Hill, great
views particularly of an afternoon watching sunset, great place to sit with some take-a-way and see it set over the west macs...
The Ghan train sure is a big beast, always fun when it comes into town and blocks the traffic :-) My wife and I do a lot of walking around town and sometimes walk through the train station on the way into town for a coffee...always interesting...
If you are heading north, a few attractions....
1) Aileron - Pull in and go see "Bozo the eagle" in the cage. Climb the
hill and see the BIG aboriginal on the
hill.
2) Ti-Tree - Not that much to see, browse around the roadhouse, always interesting "nick-nacks"
3) There is a mango farm just north, cant fully recall where but if its open, stop in for a mango icecream, they are awesome !
4)
Barrow creek Hotel - Stop for a stretch and have a pint at the bar. it was opened the same year as the harbour bridge. its the place peter Falconio was taken :-)
5)
Wycliffe Well - UFO center of the universe apparently. Great place to stroll around and check out his UFO curios...
6)
Wauchope Hotel - Supposedly nice but never stopped there
7) Devil's marbles - No need to say more, go looky !
Enjoy your travels, lots to see...
Cheers..pete
