Hi David and Michellle,As a mechanic I have seen new reputable brands of belts break and traced it back to over tightening.This is because we now use cordless impact guns or air ratchet, that will do the adjusting bolts up with too much tension on the adjusting tensioner.This is why your service agent has had it happen to another vehicle.
I have direct read out temperature sensor with alarm attached to the thermostate housing on my 1995 Petrol 80 series and the factory gauge is no where accurate.
On my last trip 2 weeks ago ,I lost all drive in the Automatic resulting in a 800 km Tilt tray ride back home.Thank you to NRMA Premium Care.I have started pulling the Automatic out today, think have broken the splines inside the Torque Converter
