Comment: Useful Road tested travel accessories for caravaners and campers.

thanks for your comments Kevin. Yes I have been meaning to get back to doing a 'wrap up' of the trip however now we are home, there are so many other jobs to be attended to!
The van is currently in at the workshop having the axles serviced and a few small items repaired and replaced under warranty and we will be interested to hear how the axles, bearings and brakes were.
Driving to the conditions for us means reducing the tyre pressure in both the van and 4WD from around 40 to mid 20's, also driving more slowly and carefully than on sealed roads. However to skim over the corrugations we found we have to maintain at least 60 kph, depending of course on how deep the corrugations were and whether there were any nasty little surprises such as washaways and very rough sections and then we just had to crawl along at a snails pace!
On the rough roads we also stop every now and then and check all the tyres and underneath the van for anything amiss. We were pretty lucky really we think.
