Hi Mick
What a terrific write up, and the photos just superb. You made me feel I was there with you.
Well done to all of the travellers in the group, you sure had an adventure!

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Phil. An amazing trip. Thankfully it's still fresh in the mind so I'm in no illusion as to just how bloody hard it was physically and mentally as later blogs will reveal. We were rationed to 5 litres of water a day (A bit over a gallon in the old terms or only slightly less than Carnegie gave his horses each day) and you still went to bed thirsty! At one point we were actually forced to wash in Equinox's supply of bourbon when water was low (it makes a crap cup of tea by the way!). Truly was a teram effort. I felt very priveleged to be out on the quads. The amount of research done by Equinox was enviable. Of course Jaydub kept us going and we wouldn't have got anywhere without the support crew. You don't know how good it feels to see the crew and vehicles after 4 days in the wild knowing there's a meal that's not out of a can waiting, a shower and an extra litre of cordial at dinner. Dingo even washed my bloody clothes for me! Most disappointed we didn't get the chance to spin tall tales round a campfire. Maybe 2014 for you and Morts.

Thanks for your sage advice. Greatly appreciated.

Mick
