Comment: How we became heroes!

I think that if we had hit it with the fire extinguisher when we first pulled up, when it was 1m x 1m the fire extinguisher might have done the job. But it's funny how you get stuck on one response rather than sitting back and considering whether there is another way. However we were amazed at how much we achieved with just softdrink bottles! I didn't mention there that Joe found an old towel while he was in the midst of things and started hitting the base of the flames with that. That helped quite a lot as well.

But it certainly got us thinking about how we would handle a camp fire that got away.
