Is there a preferred size for the images you would prefer people to use?
I usually save my jpg's at about 800x600 but sometimes wonder if that is too small for people with weaker eyesight (like myself).

Hi LG,
800x600 pixels is actually a really good size for uploading and viewing online, so if you find this ok to view then continue to use this size, however if you are having trouble viewing the image once uploaded, then just resize slightly larger (eg 1000x800).
