Comment: Carnegie Expedition 2013 - Day 15 Dealing with the attrition of outback

Another good read Mick,

Lots of tips to budding desert explorers telling them its not about awesome scenery, magical rock holes brim full, rediscovering explorers marks and so on. There is a lot of prep and planning before the trip and its got to be kept up during the trip.
After all we don't want another Gibson incident out there.

Seasons greeting to you and family and to all EOites and all the best in 2014.

There is a lot of difference between

It's always hard to make the mundane, interesting Phil! There is a heap of work and the harsh conditions will leap out and bite the unwary or careless. Checking things over is the crucial part of the day, beginning and end.

All the best to you and yours and here's to a 2014 where we might get to spend some time working that bottle of red over.
