Hi All
Just trying to plan a bit of a trip to eastern Vic and up into the Alps for the coming school holidays.
Looking at Parks Vic web site they tell me that Macfarlane Flat Hut was destroyed in last years bush fires and further it tell's me that the track itself is open.

My question is has anybody been up there in the last couple of months and whats the general track condition like and the area in general.

Regards
John

I'm not sure where MacFarlane Flat Hut is, but I too will be venturing the Vic High Country over Easter in the area of Mt Pinnibar and Wheeler's Creek track & hut. If nearby it would be great to meet some fellow forumites.
Have a safe trip and if we don't meet up let us know about your trip when you get back.

Cheers
Alfred

Hi Alfred
Mac's Track is south east of Mt Pinnibar near Suggan Buggan.

But I might end up over your way, just depend on time and weather.
What are you driving ? and I will keep my eye open for you.
Will also be on UHF channel 10.

Regards
John

Hi Wayne,

Are you there with Scruffy?

We will be down that way at Easter, going a similar way to you (spoke with Wayne V recently).

We went to Vic high country with you a couple of years back (Barry Janet and Thomas). Might see you along the way.

All the best

Baz,
Good to hear from you again. Is Thomas still running and falling over then getting up with a big smile on his face?
I will be back up for Scruffy on this trip and also the Vic High Country a week later. Hope to see you again. We are on Ch16 UHF but I scan all channels.

Yes, well always smiling anyway. Got to give it to him though, he gets in the Landie and has got not idea whether he's going around the block, or half-way around Oz. He loves it though!

I'll keep a watch out for you and the crew. We are considering whether to take our KK trailer, we are going simlar way to you. Any thoughts on the suitability? In through Barry Way, Ingeegoodbee, McArthurs, out to Tom Groggin via Davies Hut?

Hi,
I was up there about the end of January.
Track was good except for north side of one of the creek crossings (Moscow creek maybe - can't remember) which was washed away.
Track had been realigned on approach to Ingeegoodbee river since I was up there previous & is now really easy.
