Comment: More follow up - Petrol Toyota Landcruiser 200 fuel contamination and b

Hi Mike and Amanda,
I tried to pm you about this issue, but I'm not a member and only joined after google led me to your post. My email is scotthislop73@yahoo.com is you prefer to reply this way.

I was wondering about when your car first and later times experienced this issue, I am trying to piece together any common sequence of events and having both our cars with the same problem with some similar circumstances makes me inquisitive.
I am a electrical power generation technician which is of some help when it comes to fault finding issues such as this.

Where you using the cruise control at the time the problem first arose or had been using it a lot before hand?
Had you been driving relatively continuous highway speed?
Did the problem first occur or subsequently occur from midday to late afternoon when the day is the hottest?
Do you use 98 octane fuel or similar?
Had you used any fuel tank additives like injector cleaner?

From my understanding we both had these similar circumstances:
Driving long distances
Towing > 1000kg trailer and load
Driving in high ambient temperature

I'm viewing the possibility of the catalytic converters being the cause of the problem, I'm not ruling out the fuel pump though.

Thanks in advance for any feedback, Scott.
