snakes and swags... hmmm when I first stared sleeping in a swag I couldn't get the thought out of my head so would wear my socks to bed, take them off and poke 1 each into the tiny gap left by the zipper openings near by head to be very sure nothing would slither. The species that I considered the most likely to be a risk to me was the death adder - and he is a night time hunter for desert marsupials. Never had a problem yet so I'm over worrying about.
