Comment: Rooftop Tents – The Good, the Bad, and what do you really think

I have a roof tent but it's gathering dust in the garage. I swapped to a stretcher tent I set up under my awning. Very quick to set up, don't have to worry about the ground condition because it's on legs, I can drive off and leave it set up except for my awning of course. I prefer not having big things permanently on the roof. My roof tent used to bang around a bit in high wind, the stretcher tent can hide behind the car as a wind break. On hot clear nights I can leave the cover off and sleep under the stars with just the mosquito mesh. Come to think of it, I feel like camping now...
