Comment: Rooftop Tents – The Good, the Bad, and what do you really think

Further to Mark from Shippshape's comment about a tent's longevity.
Our tent was made in 1988. We replaced the cover (we had to get one made by our upholstery man because Shippshape didn't reply to our enquiries) and had the screens replaced last year before we went to Lorella Springs.
We borrowed a Shippshape for a trip up to the Cape and we loved it so much we bought ours. The tent we borrowed was made in 1987 and is still going strong today.
The couple we bought our tent off sold it because they bought a newer one off a friend that had just bought a brand new one. I see a pattern emerging.
