I can remember when back in the 50"s when we had our 100 gallon tank with muddy
dam water the chap who filled it used to put a handful of Carbide in after a while it was like rain water.
It was lucky we did light a match to
check the level as carbide and water in miners lamps created acetylene.
Wouldn't OHNS love this!!!!!!!!

Hi Ian
I have not heard of using Carbide before, but it sound like you had the same results. I am sure that there must be other
recipes that will give the same results that others might like to share.
Cheers
Stephen
