Review: Bourke

My Place Rating: My Rating 4/5

Stayed at Kidman's Camp in North Bourke. A very nice place to visit with good facilities and camping areas.
The price per night for 2 people was very reasonable.
The BackOBourke exhibition centre is a good place to find out about the history surrounding Bourke. Some of the history is still relvent today.
The wharf precinct is interest to walk around the gift shop area, whilst you can have a good coffee. I visit to the local RSL club across from the wharf is good for Breaky/Brunch or Dinner.
There is the steam engine that is fired up over the winter tourist season..steam buffs would appreciate.
If it takes your fancy, a couple of hours walking around the Bourke cementry is very interesting. It details the lives of all the people who lived in the district and on some cases explains their demise.
A visit to Fred Hollows's gravesite is a fine place to stand, listen to the wind russel through the trees and reflect on the mans legacy he has left to us all, white and black.
Bourke a very interesting place to visit and spend some time.
