Hi David, I've been on Durham Downs before in Jan a few years back, we used meat and got plenty, the only prob was that it was so hot-48 degs that unless you kept your bait refriderated it went off quick, tring to find room in the fridge for Yabbies, food ,BEER and bait was a bit hard. I know in Yabbie farms they feed them Lucern pellets.

This may sound odd but the best results I have had with catching red claw is using PUMPKIN and/or POTATOE as they are really a herbivore but will eat meat.
No need to keep bait under refrigeration so more room in the fridge
I did a lot of research on the subject and that is why on farms they use lucerne etc to feed them in ponds. One other thing they are mainly nocturnal so you will catch more over night than thru the day
Thats what I have found. Good hunting
