Hi all
After reading all the stuff about butane burners I had to have a think. Does anyone know of a portable gas stove (preferably low pressure) that has a gas inlet on the left? Does such a thing exist?
cheers

Ruk, I have an old two burner stove with a quick connect on the left. Probably not legal now with the plug in connection. Shouldn't be too hard to alter the orientation of a two or three burner stove inlet, just need a hole in the left side for the hose entry. Good luck.

My old primus 2 burner gas stove has the inlet on the left, although looking on the web they all seem to be on the right now.

I've got 2 of them. Pretty sure they are on the left as well. Both quite old as well.

The Primus unit in son in law's camper trailer is on the left.

Ruk, found this one on the net, doesn't have the inlet on the right, not sure if it is on the left or the rear....... maybe something to look at.

My 2 are in a lot better condition than that one, but I would think same age / design. Just be aware that they use US thread, opposite to Aussie, so you need to have Primus bottles / hoses etc, which aren't cheap. Generally twice the price of equivalent Coleman etc. In saying that though, mine are at least 40 years old, and still going strong.

Steve D1, mine is a lot better condition also, but it has a quick connect plug at the stove end. Very simple to connect and disconnect.

Thanks everyone. Looks like they're pretty rare - those 4 burner ones look good. Might have a bigger think and later on I'll get some opinions on dual fuel and any other alternatives. Don't much like the idea of always having to untie the gas bottle and move it closer to the stove - hence thinking about low pressure units.

Hi Ruk,
I have an old Primes 3 burner stove & it has a screw fitting on the LH side but it is high pressure.
I have fitted an outlet to my second tank which I can couple direct to my stove as well as to the regulator for the van use.
This allows me to have the van running as well as do a bit of cooking outside the van.
Regards,
Max C3.
