Browsing through 5th wheeler ads and notices some had air brakes.
Does that mean you would have to have a compressor on the car or is it already on the trailer and you just hook a -ve and +ve wire to it?

Many 5th wheelers are towed by light trucks with air brakes so would already have the system in place. For those that don't it's usual for the tow vehicle to have a large capacity electric compressor fitted with air controller in the cab.

G'day all
The 5th wheeler is a
crossroads cruiser 25' with a slide out.
I'm going to ring a dealer this morning regarding the weight.
The lady who owns it has a Nissan Navara as a tow vehicle.
The tare is 3650kg and the gvm is 4590kg.
The husband died recently and the brother says it's legal to tow with the Nissan.
I think it would not be legal.
Does anyone know whether the brother is right or not?

Boo,
Done a bit of searching, and it appears the GCM of Nissan D40 is 5805 kgs.
So you probably could tow it with the Nissan, as long as you didn't take any food, drinks, clothes, gas or water in the 5th wheeler. :-)
Would have to go to a Landcruiser or Patrol, which have GCM of about 6800 kgs.

It probably can be towed with the Navara BUT aren't there enough idiots driving overweight car/van combinations now? I,d hate to drive it and it would be even scarier stopping in a hurry.
