Drysdale River Station
Hi Everyone,
As always there is a lot of incorrect info floating around about our roads.
At present I have folks phoning saying they heard it’s ALL open, then next phone call says they have been told it’s very wet and won’t open for WEEKS to come.
Both statements are rubbish.
The
Gibb River Road is open all the way through, water levels are not high, it’s being graded. I have been told it’s really good at present.
The
Kalumburu Road and the
Mitchell Plateau Track ( Port Warrender Road) are not yet open. Water levels are not a problem it’s just a few small washouts need fixing.
A
grader should start fixing the washouts in the next few days and the shire plans to be able to have the road open all the way to the
Mitchell Falls before the 30 th April.
As for the opening of the
Kalumburu road North from the
Mitchell Falls turn off to
Kalumburu, sorry don’t know yet.
We will be open for fuel and camping the day the road opens and open for all else on the 1st May as by then we will have had the first supply truck for the season.
Pls don’t call me to ask more as this is all I know, my phone is going non stop !
For these two North
Kimberley roads just call SWEK on (08) 9168 4100.
They will be helpful give you the correct latest info.
Cheers, Anne
