I'm about to program some phone numbers into my Satphone - Is there any good handy phone list for all of OZ? (emergency contacts mainly).

I'm about to do a trip around OZ and would like to have them pre-programmed in - so if the unthinkable happens they're all in there ready to go.

Anyone?

000 will not work on some phones, and on thise it does work on you may find yourself speaking to the emergency operator in another state.

What we do is have the number for ambulance, the 13 number, that will at least get you the right state, or when based somewhere we have the numbers for the ambo station and the local hospital.

Off the top of my head, I believe that 000 does not work with inmarsat or Iridium (because these are international systems, your call does not neccesarilty come to earth in Australia.

So, in short, 000 isn't the way to go for sat phone users.

Hi

000 works for Iridium phones on the Telstra supplied SIM as well as the Globalstar network with an Australian SIM.

If you have Hema maps they usually have a list of the nessessary numbers for each area, Before I travel I program them in for the areas we are going to.

You better put your therapist in there in case Mark Latham gets in while you're away! Talk about unthinkable

That's a very scarry thought . . . . . But, I can't believe we'd be that stupid, (not considering what's happening in NSW at the moment)
