Conditions on the Tanami Track

Hi Everyone
Has anybody come down or been up the Tannami track in the last few days. A friend of mine is planning on hitting it in the next 4 days and wants to know whether he should attempt it. He has hi lift 4bee pulling a semi off road trailer.

I did from Yuendumu to Alice at Easter and it was perfect. Not sure how it was beyond Yuendumu though. a two wheel drive would do that part with ease.

The only thing I can say is that there has been heavy rainfall recently at the Alice end.

Just to add, there is a fellow who lives close by to the Tannami that can give track condition updates. He is on the www.myswag.org forum.

I have been through to Alice Springs this year, and across to Billiluna, returning via the Tanami, so I have placed an update in the "Road Alerts" section here.

Why travel overseas, you could travel Australia your entire life, and not see it all.

Its a maintained dirt road, use common sense and drive to the conditions, which may be different week to week.
