Hi All,

The Kalumburu Road to Mitchell plateau turn off , and the Mitchell Plateau Track ( Port Warrender Road) are now open.
Water levels are not a problem. The roads haven't been fully graded but the washouts have been fixed.
As for the opening of the Kalumburu road North from the Mitchell Falls turn off to Kalumburu, sorry don’t know yet.

DPaW - Mitchell Falls NP is now open.
DPaW - King Edward River Camp ground is now open
Drysdale - is now open for everything.

Warning - Imintji Store on the Gibb River road is presently closed down so don't plan to get fuel there. I'm told their phone message is still saying 'our hours are blah blah'
The reality is that it is (for the present anyway) totally closed.
Mt. Barnett Roadhouse is the nearest next fuel available.

Please don’t call me for info about access to Kalumburu as I can't tell you any more detail, just call Shire Wyndham East Kimberley on (08) 9168 4100.

cheers, Anne

Hope you have a great season Anne - we had a fantastic time last year, with a couple of stop-overs at Miners Pool and some time at both KE River and Mitchell Falls.
Have done heaps of Australian travel over the past 15 years, but nothing beats the Kimberley!!
