Following my last topic, where I asked people not to divert to
well worn diversion subjects on this
forum, I thought that threads usually get OT on followups then it spreads to the main part of a thread / subject.
For some subjects, followups add value. But for many, they are the seed to total subject oblivion.
A great feature would be to add an option when a new thread is started.
Allow or disallow followups. ( with a reminder to keep on topic for the latter)
I have had a few threads go so off topic the original question lately, that the original question was lost in the fog. And to be honest, I have even unwittingly contributed to the demise of my own threads by following up sometimes....
Food for thought and a way to allow the OP to get more relevant responses.
??

Threads are like any conversations amongst a group of people. The answer is given quite quickly, then the topics ramble, including sometimes with the follow ups within the replies. Nothing wrong with that Boobook.

Hmm must be only me that finds that topics on EO get hijacked too much.
Oh
well.

I'm sure that it's not only you, it's just that you are probably the only one brave enough to risk getting flamed by bringing it up.
This
forum is nothing like it was 10 years ago & has become more of a chat room & it appears that a lot like it that way, sadly.
If you are trying to research for a trip, it makes it very tedious work.

Tedious, yeah, I mean you may have to read maybe 10 or more replies and some may not help.
Like this one for example!!!!!!!!!!
(;=))
Cheers
