Congratulations on taking the time to consider the technical constraints of your upgrade. I have a standard 200 Series and tow a caravan with 3,000 kg ATM. I also use a weight distributing hitch. Interestingly after setting the WDH according to that manufacturers specifications, a trip to the weighbridge in fully loaded condition indicated that my FRONT axle was overloaded.
There are many traps for the unwary, and I am sure quite a few vehicles out there that are slightly to seriously overloaded.
I came across one couple with twin cab utility and canopy towing a caravan. We checked the vehicle with one of those Reich axle weighing contraptions and found that the vehicle was 60 kg short of GVM without passenger or caravan. (The Reich device has a +/- tolerance of 3% so at 3000 kg we could be 90 kg either way, but you get the drift.
